When we use the save the workbook option on the BI platform (4.1), it automatically saves the file as xls.
How do we save the file as sapaox file?

Filter by Member Error - Exception - Add-in has disconnected
Dear Experts,
When we attempt to filter by the Dimension Employee in the data source (2nd image below) after it is initially inserted, we are disconnected from the Add-in and get the error below. However, if we filter by a cost center initially and then filter by Employee the popup (3rd image below) to filter by member is displayed. In addition, if we add this same data source to a different worksheet location at this time, we are not disconnected if we filter by Employee immediately. This is very odd behavior. Do any of you know the solution? Is this there a setting that we need to adjust?

Roles and Authorizations not visible in AO
Hello All,
We are looking for installation of Analysis for Office to replace the existing BEx workbooks. We have done a PoC on the AO and have come up with couple of open items, Please help me understand if where we are missing out
Our current BW version is 7.0 SP18 , SAP GUI 740 Patch Level 1, BI Front end Add on 7x with patch 100 (BEx analyzer etc) Operating System Windows 7, 64bit and MS Excel 32 Bit. For our PoC we have installed AO 2.0
I am part of the technical team and have access to all the Menu Roles that exists in the system, even though I have roles in BW it doesnt show me anything when I click on Select Data Source and login to my SAP system! Does it need a separate security setup? and we need to know if that comes from the BI platform?

Analysis hierarchy: compact view in rows but different columns for two characteristics
Dear all,
we have a requirement to show a hierarchy in combination with one or two characteristics. The standard view in Bex and Analysis for Office (Excel) is like this:

With the option "compact view in rows" it looks like this:

But our requirement is to show a combination of those options. The reason is to both eliminate the characteristic values for top level nodes and show the second characteristic in an own column.

Is it possible to realize the last table in Analysis for Office (Excel) in combination with a standard Bex Query.

SAPGetData in Analysis for Ms Office in Offline mode
Dear Experts,
I used SAPGetData in AO version 1.4.12 to retrieve data from a query as the below sample formula:
When I save the file on my desktop with type Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook, the value from function is reset to #NAME
This issue doesn't happen with function SAPGetVariable. It still shows value, even though I saved the file as local.

Analysis Add-in issue
Hi Experts,
I don't know someone has faced this issue earlier or not.
We are using AO 1.4 SP13. Now I am getting below error when I open AO client tool. Reports are also not be able to open from BIP.
I have tried to re-install AO several times and also tried to enable and disable analysis add-in, but it doesn't work.
Request you to help on resolving this issue.

memory issues with SAP BO Analysis 2.0 SP2
Hi,
We are facing issues with SAP BO Analysis 2.0 SP2.
Reports were that were working fine in 1.48 analysis crashed in analysis 2.0.
Go message Index outside bounds of array ...
later we reset data source and ran. it worked for two refreshes then later crashed with insufficient memory.
We have already set ResultSetSizeLimit=20000000 .
Please advise.
it works in SP4 but do we have any option to make it work in sp2 ? As our organization may take some time to roll out sp4.

Downgrade AO 2.0 workbook to AO 1.4

We save a workbook with Analysis Office version 2.0 and want to downgrade to version 1.4. Now I cannot open the workbook 2.0 with 1.4 version. Is there a way to downgrade the version of saved workbook?

Cannot open AO Workbook saved in Role
Dear Experts,
In our project, we use the Analysis for Ms Office version 1.4.12.3394. When I saved my workbook to role, the system shows all the roles assigned to me as below picture:
However, when I try to reopen the saved workbook from View -> Role, the open dialog shows empty.
However, I can search my report through Search menu and open it correctly.
I try to search SAP note and SDN forum but not see any useful information. Is there anyone facing the same problem

AO export to ppt- formatting and exceptions
Dear All,
I need your help - I have been searching for information for a while but I did not find anything
I am currently uses AO 1.4.7 and I need to export some tables and charts to PPT
I have the following question:
1)Is it possible to keep the same formatted table ( colors, font) from excel when I export the table to ppt?
2) I need to export tables with exceptions - I tried but it did not work - is it possible?

Data Disconnect Analysis 2.0 SP2/Sp4- VSTA_Main|General .NET Exception:
Hi ,
We have a report with requirement to refresh report in with prompts and without prompt mode
and we use SAPExecuteCommand.
How report is used:
The user will refresh the report using prompt first time using - Call Application.Run("SAPExecuteCommand", "ShowPrompts")
followed up by business rule implemented using vba .
Later user will initiate refresh using Call Application.Run("SAPExecuteCommand", "RefreshData", "ALL").
Problem:
When report is triggered using Call Application.Run("SAPExecuteCommand", "RefreshData", "ALL") ,I get data source disconnect issue
What exactly is happening? I am not able to figure out.
Configuration details:
Analysis: 2.0 SP2 / Fails with SP4 as well.
SAP GUI 7.3
BO -4.1 SP 5
OLAP connection is thru BO.
MS Office 2010.

AO 2.0 Addin VBA Functions
Hi everyone,
I use the VBA-Code to load the AO 2.0 Addin

This works perfect, but when I want to use the Analysis Functions like =SAPListOF or something else, I get an error that there are no macros available.
When I look in the functions I see the following picture.
There is no Analysis Functions. The same Coding works in AO 1.4 perfect.
Did I miss something? Any suggestions?

SAP Analysis for Office - Query Selection on BO Logon does not work
Hy @all,
iam facing a problem related to Query selection in Analysis for Office 1.4
The User open AfO and go to Insert--> Select DataSource
Then he logs on to SAP Business Objects
Now the Screen with all Sources is shown.
In "ALL" I can see every connection and cube.
I created a specific connection on one single cube with 2 Querys in it.
When i now doubleclick the Cube, AfO creates a new query on its own based on some cube data.
But i expected, that i can go into the Cube with the NEXT button and then select the query.
This is not possible for me.
Even under Show connections --> Cube/InfoProvider the next button is gray
Here also my connection: It is built up wiht a specifc cube and this one has two Querys. The "Allow access from external" tick is set in Query Designer
I can only chosse the Query as Source, when i logon again to my BW System and then go over the InfoArea to the cube. There i can see the Querys.
But this is quite much logon work for a user.
I need the possibility to chosse the query in the BO Logon.
Any idea?

Unable to open different session in different windows for Analysis 2.0 SP4
Hi,
In analysis 2.0 SP2, I could open a new session in new window.
i.e. if I have an workbook opened. Then I can got to start menu-> Open analysis -> login using insert data source after giving proper credentials
But in analysis 2.0 SP4 , I am not able to follow the path or open a new instance by logging in separately
I have to do Ctrl+N to open a new window /session. Also ,it seems that I cannot open BEx analyzer BW7 workbook. Am not able to open two apps simultaneously.
Am I missing something or some configurations ?

Window 8.1 pro with Analysis for excel issue
Hi,
I have installed analysis for excel x64 and later AO 32 bits on windows 8.1 and it doesn't work properly.
The problem is in the Design area.
This is the normal behaviour:
and this is the laptop with the problem:
In this case the desing area shows neither Lines nor filter.
Can anybody help me?

It takes a long time to copy data from one cell to whole crosstab.
Hi experts,
I went through many topics on SCN but I could not find the answer for this question.
I am facing an issue in Analysis for MSO plannable layout. The thing is that when I try to copy data from one cell to whole crosstab I takes several minutes. The same problem occurs when I want to delete a lot of data at once. Is it some kind of performance issue? Does anyone has a clue how to resolve it?
I use Analysis 2.0 SP4 and before I did not have this kind of problems.

Callback_AfterRedisplay runs after too many kinds of events in Analysis
Has anyone had the same problem please? I have registered a Callback_AfterRedisplay routine in my Analysis workbook. It's meant to run a macro after all data sources have refreshed. Problem is it also gets triggered after many other events, for example when I save the workbook. I have managed to avoid that by adding unregister call back routines to different Worksheet events, so that's fine, although not elegant.
But I am unable to fix one other thing. Namely, when you cancel the Prompts box. It still runs the macro although none of the data sources get refreshed. Any ideas how to fix this? I only want to be able to run the macro after one event - when all data sources are refreshed, NOT when I cancel or save the workbook, or drill down within query, or set filters etc.
