I have installed SBOP ANALYSIS MS OFFICE 2.2 - 32 bit and Excel 2010 32 bit.
Operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.
.net 4.5.1 installed
HANA ODBC driver 32 and 64 bit also ( HANA 1.00.102.02 )
When I open Analysis for Microsoft Excel and try to insert a new datasource
after I skip first screen I get the following error in Excel
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
With AO 1.4 everything works fine.

I am trying to set up access for end users to be able to see "Views" through Office for Analysis. However, I only see specific Queries and not Views. I have added most of the S_RS_* auth object in the back end SAP system; however, still unable to see "Views"
The only time I am able to see "Views" is when I grant SAP_ALL access to a test account.
Please help.
Installed Analysis for office version 2.2 on my client machine. Configured in CMS Server to enable to create HANA connection in mdas.properties file. Restarted the server.
Login to CMC. Created OLAP connection for HANA, not HTTP. Just Provider as "SAP HANA'.
Open the Analysis for office and logon to BI platform by selecting 'Insert Data source'. I could see the HANA connection. Select the connection and provide the credentials.
Message shows : Unable to open data source, and data source information is null.
I installed HANA client on both server and client machines. I also configured HANA ODBC connection on server and client.
Am I missing any steps?
Hi all,
I created an AfO Excel template and saved it in the settings of Analysis for using every time when I am opening a BEx query.
But every time I open a query with this template the data source panel with columns and rows on the right is empty.
If a query was created without a template the elements will be displayed in the panel.
Also the prompt is showing the variables in the beginning with or without a template.

When we try to open from the BI Launchpad an Analysis Workbook it's not working, Excel opens well and then
when the file needs to open we receive the following popup :
"The launcher is exited with error, see log file for more details. Addin returned an error. Check logfile of the addin."

While working with Analysis Microsoft for Excel I'm getting this error message randomly:
"Error message:an exception occurred in one of the data sources.
Sap BI add-in has disconnected all datasources"
Does anyone know why it happens?

in 2.1 SP3 and 2.2 no error message appears if a workbook cannot be saved due to authorization.
The only hint for this is that the timestamp remains in Excel header:
In 2.1 SP1 it works.
(BIP 4.1 SP6 with AO Addon 2.1)
Has anyone else noticed that behaviour?

Hi Everyone,
I have installed AO2.2 and noted a powerful new feature to add in Excel formula via a new line/column.
What I was trying to do is to add in a new column, and fill in a formula for my calculation logic on a cell, and then use the auto complete function to copy the formula for every single record along the new column.
However, if my report layout has a drill down with subtotals on a certain characteristic (e.g. detail level is material and then grouped by material group), then the formula will also apply to the subtotals (in my case it is the subtotal at material group level).
Is there any way to apply the Excel formula only at material level, but not material group level? And then along the new column with Excel formula, the subtotals on material group level are still the summation of the result at material level?

In the prompt on the variable screen the texts for the hierarchy nodes are not shown. In the Analysis workbook in excel the texts are shown.
As you can see i have selected Member(text) in the prompt screen . Still it shows me the hierarchy node key instead of text.
I am on this version of BO Analysis.
But when i run the BEx query behind this report in BO Analysis for Microsoft Excel, it runs fine and i can see the text in analyzer.
Is there a setting that i can change in BW system or is it a product issue and i will need SAP Notes to resolve this issue.

Does anyone know how to suppress the prompt for logging on to Business Objects when using VBA? The code already does the trick so the prompt would have to be avoided otherwise it's blocking the rest of the script..

We use a VBA driven workbook for generating "personalized" workkbooks. So it worked fine on Office 32bit. But due we reached to big data and Excel came up with its "SystemoutofMemory"-error, we now have to go to 64bit Office.
The same workbook now crashes when coming across "workbook.close"

one of the customer is opening AO workbook from BI launchpad, it seems that it correctly shows two sessions opened for the same user, but it also consumes two license as well.
Can someone confirm if that is correct behavior?

When opening a workbook created on Analysis for Microsoft Excel (version 1.4, sp14)
I am able to open workbooks from the BI platform.
However, it's not possible to do "refresh all" or to open prompts, since these options are greyed out.
If I save the workbook with no data, there is a message "Data removed. Refresh to update data display".
If I save the workbook with data, i can see latest data saves, but no option to refresh.
Please let me know if you have a possible solution. Below is an imagen of the situation.

sometimes we have some strange behavior with the save button of Excel, when we want to save a workbook local on the computer (not on the BO server).
When somebody of our users works with an local BO Workbook and want to save the changes localy by pressing the excel "save button" (disk)
sometimes the changes aren't be saved.
--> After reopening of the Workbook it is like before.
However, that does not always happen.
Does anyone of you know this problem?
We are using Ofiice 365 and tested it with BO 1.4.11, 2.0.4 and also 2.1.3 .... not tested with BO 2.2

We have a data and time filed in HANA which is a Measure(as we are taking the Max data we have created the field as measure).
when we show this filed in Analysis for Excel it is only showing the date but not time.

The requirement would be extracting figures for movement types 100-200, instead of direct cell link ZCS_MOVTP="&G$11.
Does anyone has an idea how it could work?

I have am having a strange issue with the filter component in analysis for office.
I have a standard filter component that I used to filter measures in 2 queries.
To adjust the layout based on filtering input, a code is executed to hide/show some rows in the workbook.
The code is found a callback on re-display macro that is registered at initialization of the workbook and called every-time if the filter is used.
The issue is that the filter component is rendered useless after i use it the first time (and the callback code is called).
I cannot filter anymore since the filter was converted in some basic text. I have removed the callback code and it worked fine again.
However, the callback code is crucial to this workbook, so I cannot do without.
The issue does not seem to be with the content of the macro since I have tried other dummy codes on callback, the issue persists.
Since this is a standard component, the callback on re-display coding is the only option I have seen to trigger an action when a filter is chosen.
Can anybody advise?

I have a dimension, 2 measures to be reported on Analysis Office for Excel v2.1; The report shows the total values for those 2 measures. I need to derive the Grand TOTAL of Total values of 2 measures separately. Is there anyway to derive it in Analysis office? Please suggest.
